    Default fallback vs fallback-html

    So what is fallback vs fallback-html in the templates directory? Searched for hours and cannot see how fallback-html is used. The fallback template directory is fallback, not fallback-html. There is no reference to the fallback-html file in any file in osCmax and there is no reference to indicate that there is code to append -html to an existing fallback value.

    So why does fallback-html exist and how is it meant to be used? No idea at this time. Perhaps it is just an html tagged version of the fallback template. But that implies that for it to be effective, you have to link to it?

    Ideas please?

    Thanks
    Tony

    It uses the html tag system instead of mixing php with html. It is easier to customize.

    Take a look at main_page.html in fallback-html and compare it to the complexity of main_page.tpl.php of the fallback template. You will see how much easier it is to see what is going on.

    fallback-html uses the new osCmax template tags to place osCmax elements in the template framework instead of mixing php and html. It is just easier to work with and far less complicated to learn.

    Hi Michael

    Thanks, I think I have that understood. My issue is that if I copy the fallback-html to another directory then I have a template with the html tag options.

    But, which template is the fallback template? It appears from my search of the code that the fallback template is still fallback, not fallback-html.

    /includes/configure_bts.php is hard-coded

    PHP Code:
      define('DIR_WS_TEMPLATES_FALLBACK''templates/fallback/');
    Should I change that to be

    PHP Code:
      define('DIR_WS_TEMPLATES_FALLBACK''templates/fallback-html/');
    or is this handled differently?

    Thanks
    Tony

    Fallback is always the fallback! (If that makes sense!) If you look in the content sub-directory you will see the template pages for the site ... the one in fallback-html is empty (or should be -> RC1 may have a fileset in there which has been removed in the SVN). Regards,

    Ahh... so on that basis could / should the fallback-html (sans content folder) be called "html-starter" instead? This would reduce my confusion (perhaps I am alone )

    Thanks
