    Default Testers needed for register_globals/register_long_arrays=off

I have brought forward the register_long_arrays=off and register_globals=off changes for OSC into oscMax RC3. However, I don't have time to do a lot of testing. All appears to be working at this point but I would expect the XML (ups xml shipping, etc.) NOT to work under PHP5.

So I was curious if others (PHP 4 or 5) would be willing to install and give it a run through.

A zip file of the changes is at http://www.ez-order-manager.com/osc/...ong_arrays.zip

This zip archive was created by:

    - Unzip oscmax2_RC3_0_1.zip
    - unzip oscommerce-2.2ms2-060817.zip
    - unzip register_globals_v1.5.zip
    - Manually integrate the Register_globals changes into oscmax
    - Added one fix of an initialization of $session_started in admin/application_top.php
    - Manually apply the fixes from register_globals_v1.5_bug_fixes_1_2.zip
    - Manually change all instances of HTTP_<varname>_VARS to _<varname> (I.e. HTTP_SESSION_VARS -> _SESSION)
    - test it and zip it all back up

I ran this on PHP5, and it worked wonderfully! Thanks for the help and thumbs up to this test.

I would think that any "standard" files that you've modified would be overwritten, but other than that, it should be like a new install.

Well I bit the bullet and tried it Nothing else to lose .....

So far I changed out the config php. The languages folder and all the images and it is up and running Need to check out the shipping and payments stuff but at least it is running and I can get into it and work using the admin control panel...

I'll update you on any problems I find and the fixes I try

Let me know of any changes and I'll incorporate them into the zip so other's don't have to go through the "discovery process"...

Works great. This should be one of the default downloads for this project. A lot of hosts will not turn register_globals on. I host myself and will not turn register_globals on, but I do use workarounds when I need them.

Hi Since nobody answer my question yet, i would like to reinstall my shop again from scratch, in case if anybody question below is my installation history:

    1. My original store installation - oscommerce ms2(with register global off mod)
    2. Make another folder mydomain.com/newfolder to install oscmax rc3( with new database and no modification at all)
    3. Everything runs fine.(full testing)
    4. Delete old oscommerce file on root folder and trannsfer all oscmax file to the root.
    5.change all configuration file.
    6. Shop can't load, register global off error
    7. Apply register global fix from this tread.(replaced all file available)
    8. Shop able to run ok.
    9. Later found out that buy now button give some error.
    10. search for a fix in the forum(appliaction top modification) then buy now button no error but shopping cart empty.
    11. Put back original appliaction top file(from register global fix file) buy now button have no error but still shopping cart empty.
    12. Up till now still usolved

So here will try removed all start from scratch. Before that just one question for the register global fix, do we need to consider any changes in our template file if used any other template besides the default one?

Thanks will update on the latest info. If anybody care to help on the above issue you can PM or post in this thread anytime
