That means that you are not actually changing the permissions to the correct level. On a linux server running suphp, the correct permissions are 444
If you are using ftp and it is not changing, try a different ftp program. Some are not able to change permissions. If after trying a different ftp program (like filezilla) and it still will not change, either ssh to your account (host has to allow ssh), or put in a ticket with your host to change the permissions for you.
I will put in a support ticket; I have tried changing to 444 using File Manager inside cPanel *and* using my FTP program (Transmit)... have changed file permissions on dozens of websites and never before had a problem.![]()
This has nothing to do with osCMax, as it is just a php file you are trying to change. osCMax php files obey linux rules like all other php files. We don't have disobedient files![]()
LOL I'm sure. My webhost logged into my cPanel and made the change in File Manager -- how strange! Thanks for the help. :-/
cpanel > file manager > find file > check box to left of file > click "change permissions" > remove "write" access for user, owner and group!
Or, i made a video tutorial for you or anyone that needs it here, its a flash walk through on step by step how to do this: http://www.hyperactivehosting.com/im...ions-tool.html
