Default Forum Search not working well

I have seen this over time, and thought it might be flukes, but today I was searching for the gv_mail patch at http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...l+gift+voucher

I searched "blank gift voucher email", but don't think I found this post.

I did the same search at Google, and found it.

I don't know what it means, but hope it's useful feedback, and that maybe somebody else has noticed this.

    Thanks,
    Ken

I searched those terms and it is the second result in the listing... Remember to use the 'Search for all terms' radio button...

Duh. Thanks, Michael. Yeah *all terms* works better than *any terms*. Thanks. Maybe that could be the default?

Maybe you could just click the button when you need it... Now that you know how it works, no need to change.

    Default Article Manager

Searching for Article Manager under the "All Terms" radio button returns a
"No topics or posts met your search criteria " and that subject is a current post in the same Forum topic.

Ps how will anyone new use the "all" button? They will go to the default.

    Default RE: Article Manager

Not for me.... all terms search for article manager gives me 13 very relevant results:

    1. http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...rticle+manager

    2. http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...rticle+manager

    3. http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...rticle+manager

    4. http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...rticle+manager

    5. http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNp...rticle+manager

    6. ...etc...

You get the point. This site has over 13,000 other users who have no problem figuring out how to do a search.

Being new is no excuse for not being able to read. When you do a search, you have 2 options right in front of you on the search form, All terms or any terms. If anyone cannot figure out that simple difference, they have bigger problems than this site can help with.

It is not like the option is hidden somewhere.
