No longer showing shipping charges

My store has seemingly started not showing the shipping charges before a customer puts in his credit card info. SUddenly my business is down and I've had a number of enquiries about shipping cost! When I try and ship an order to myself it goes straight from the cart to the Payment Information page withour showing me the shipping choices. I use the FedEx module so there is a choice of options. I looked at a few of the obvious files and none of them have changed.
When I'm on the payment info page if I try and go to the Delivery information page it doesn't go anywhere.
Any ideas?

Panic over! I've managed to fix it. Because I have been madly looking at configuration settings and retesting I'm not 100% clear on what it was but I think there were TWO problems.

I used the forum to find some other posts about it and saw someone had had the same problem when they changed the sort sequence on the Order Total module.
I referred back to the OSCMax manual (well worth purchasing) and saw their recommendation not to change the sequence (fair enough but why give the option?)

That got everything working with the exception of one item. That item would still not provide shipping costs. Could not see anything in the product info page that could change it but when I looked at the database with PHP MyAdmin I saw something that indicated this was a downloadable product. Aha!
I don't sell downloadables but had somehow turned downloading on. Once it was off all the problems went away.

As I get more comfortable with OSCMax the troubleshooting gets easier. If I look at a page of Code my eyes still blur over and I get panicky but I still find it amazing that such a complex shopping cart is FREE and I am able to configure it!
