Smile categories not available in public domain

    Hi
    I am a new learner
I have installed, configured and added categories, products
But the links from categories turn up as

    "Not Found
The requested URL /hardware-c-1.html was not found on this server."

I am Not able to locate any content documentation in the forums or on the docs site
unsure where to change the content

Also from the left info box-the privacy page opens wysiwyg editor but when i input text Save "destination not writeable (privacy_content.php is 777) & it tells me to
"Enter your privacy policy through the admin panel. Click on the Privacy Page link under the Catalog section of the admin and use the wysiwyg HTML editor."
which takes me back to the editor again

    V3.3 RC4

I am sure it is just a permissions problem as indicated in the header but for my stupidity I cannot find which files i need to change them on.
I as per the pics have looked at main_page.tpl.php & its permissions are RWX-R_X-R_X
I changed them to 777 and no difference still cannot edit there source
All the other items available via wysiwyg have the same permission problem
    What am I missing?

What software are you running? What is V3.3 RC4...

OSCMAX is available as V2.0.3 RC3 or as SVN (It is actually RC4 in beta)

If SVN/RC4 then change in the ADMIN -> Configuration -> SEO URL -> Enable SEO URLs?
    to False

And comment out everything in .HTACESS file (put a # before each non-blank line.)

    Ok sorry V2.0.3 RC3 RC4 Betta
If SVN/RC4 then change in the ADMIN -> Configuration -> SEO URL -> Enable SEO URLs?
    to False
    Done
    I now get this "
    [quote]
    Safari can’t open the page.
Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://archistoreit.com.au/index.php?cPath=1”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.[quote/]
"And comment out everything in .HTACESS"
I am not able to find or see a htacess file (should this be in the admin folder?)
    i am using a mac & a . file is hidden normally
so i just need to find how to show all files
    To be continued.

They got moderated becaus you have so few posts and are adding links to your posts. That is an automatic flag that a human moderator has to look at it. The sad reality of our spammy universe.

Next, RC4, make sure all options for SEO urls are turned to the FALSE setting, and then set the RESET SEO URL CACHE to true (it will not stay at true, but will clear out any cached urls)

No. As the error says, you need to set the permissions on privacy_content.php not privacy.tpl.php.

That file is located in /includes/languages/english/
