    Default Scrolling Product Images

A new project_project entry has been added:

    Scrolling Product Images

This is a very simple to install marquee of random products. It can be used in your header, on the home page, or within product pages. You can define the size of the displayed images and the scroller, within the one php file. You can define how many images to display with Admin.
Please leave a thanks if you decide to use this. :)

    Hi Ridexbuilder,

I love this scrolling marquee, but, as only a newbie could, when I installed it, my images only show as boxes and descriptions (like the image can't be found).

Can you give me some ideas on what may need to be changed?

    Cheers
    Ali

Right-click on one of the scrolling non-images and it'll tell you where it expects to find it. I'll hazard a guess that you're not making use of the thumbs/images_big facility in 'Max.

The location of my images are:
    http://www.mysite.com.au/images/thumbs/xximage.jpg

Would you be able to help me point the scrolling product images to the right place please? I will need simple instructions please.

    Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Scrolling Product Images

    That's the correct place.
Post your URL, or PM me it, for a quick look.

[Just installed on an site that was updated to 2.0.25 - 3 minutes in total - no problems.]

    Hi Ridexbuilder,

    I have made it work.

In my admin, I changed the configuration/dynamicmopics thumbs directory to point to my main image directory where the static images were actually sitting.

Thanks so much for this feature.

It took me a little more than 3 minutes (maybe 3 hours) to get it right, but I got there.

    Thanks again
    Ali

    Exclamation Re: Scrolling Product Images

Will mean that you will screw up the standard feature/benefit of storing thumbs in the 'correct' place ie. thumbs.
Take a good read at the wiki documentation for Dynamic Mopics.

Why the heck would you go and change code when all you need to do is put the images in the right folder?

Now you have broken the entire feature because you didn't do the correct thing and put your images in the thumbs folder. This is an example of penny-wise, pound-foolish. I suggest that you revert your changes and just put your images where they are supposed to go, as it will allow you to keep your installation clean and organized.

    Sorry Guys,

This is not a website I set up and I don't really have a licence to drive it either unless it came out of a cereal packet! I just like to add stuff to it to make it look nice.

I did not move the images, that is where they were put when it was setup. I guess I did not think to move the images in case it broke something else! I can only manoevre my way around the code enough to do minor things.

    Thanks anyway
    Ali
