Why OsCMax?
Just wondering what it is you all are offering. I take it you're trying to improve on the osCommerce site/software. How are you different? Is there better support? If I wanted to switch to OscMax could I do so with existing carts I have?

Re: Why OsCMax?
You are new to osCMax, but we have been around for over 5 years providing an improved osCommerce experience for our users.
osCMax is simply a pre-modded version of osCommerce, including all the most requested and difficult mods to install.
Less support is needed because non-programmers do not have to go digging into the code to get basic needed features like inventory tracking for attributes, gift vouchers and coupons, etc.
Also, contrary to what is said about osCMax, it is not a true fork of osCommerce, as we strive to maintain backwards compatibility with the standard osCommerce code base. We have simply pre-added the contributions that most shop owners will end up installing anyways.
If you want to see what is in osCMax, see this page:
http://www.oscmax.com/what_is_oscmax_0
Think of osCMax as the ultimate osCommerce time saver. We have saved thousands of man hours of people constantly reinstalling the same mods over and over again. We are the head-start most new shop owners are looking for.

Re: Why OsCMax?
One other thing, right now it is better to start with a clean install of osCMax and move your data to it, as it is a complicated upgrade path. There are quite a few database additions in osCMax compared to standard osCommerce. It might be more trouble than its worth to upgrade if you are not well versed in mysql and php.
Once 2.0 final is released, we will have a full upgrade path that will be easier to accomplish.

Re: Why OsCMax?
This is what i like about Oscmax with the pre-added mods, from my last install of oscommerce teh amount of time i had to get the mods installed was quite considrable.I just wish i had found Oscmax earlier and saved myself alot of time and saved me from going bold! lol.

Re: Why OsCMax?
I too have invested time and effort into OSCommerce. I love what I have seen in OSCMax 2RC3.0.1! My only question is what is coming in OSC 3.0 and will it be incorporated in OSCMax when released (and stable)?
