Try turning off error output to the screen again (undo what you did to see the errors). It should get it working again.

Paul (assuming that is your name) if you are thinking of upgrading from RC-1 to the latest version I would recommend against doing it by steps as shown in the upgrade section without reading the following notes about my experiences - I hope they help you!

I suspect it might be easier to create a new store using 2.5.4 and transfer the data over via Easypopulate.

The 2.5.5 development version has corrected all the issues you faced with updating using the automated system or gone a long way to resolving all the issues (Still needs more testing!). I revamped the entire upgrade system to be more robust, better at reporting failures and much more consistent across versions/platforms. Hopefully that will make upgrading as trivial as it should be.

Eventually things settle back into a groove, at least temporarily. Whenever you get settled enough, just jump right back in.

I have seen some fairly recent activity on PGM's bitbucket repo so I know he still lurks about here every now and then...

Guys, I have been forced to move VPS, hence forced to move to 5.4
even default 2.5.4 install has errors.
I have a blank checkout, and funny that i find the issue is with FEDEX - using latest 9.5 webservices from oscommerce, but even the default 9.4.2 (included in 2.5.4) has issues too
so removing fedex get me at least data on the checkout page
fixing the application_top does not fix, forcing to English only has no effect, updating checkout.js no effect

I have errors now in USPS package, again, the 2.5.4 default no longer works, and forced to upgrade since the USPS module is so old (1986 2013-07-21 20:14:50Z cottonbarn) integrated in 2.5.4
so using Version 7.3.1 @Author: Evan Roberts, which works, but may not be latest.

bottom line, we need the 2.5.5 fixes ASAP, there are so many PHP 5.4 issues, and even 5.4 is old, and we're being forced to 5.6, and even 7.x

please help, live site is down for 2 days
