Default Problems with hosting in Ireland

I have an OSCMax site, hosted in both Ireland and the U.S. The U.S. site runs fine but the Ireland site runs slow and has many problems with the attributes. Sometimes the attributes come through on the orders, sometimes they don't. Is there some kind of special hosting requirements that I do not know about? Could it just be that the Irish server is that much slower that it affects performance? Has anyone had problems with Irish hosting.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Check that both servers are running the same PHP and Apache. How are you (and why are you) hosting in two places?

Ironically, I'm the other way around at the moment (though the Irish site is UK hosted). I'm having issues with Totals in a large U.S. (based & hosted) site.

[OT: I haven't forgotten about attributes/EP and OTF - just too sidetracked with other issues.]

I have a server in the U.S but my client is in Ireland so she wanted the site hosted there. I built the site on my server under a different domain name, then put it on her server under the correct name. I never deleted the site on my server. She has had nothing but problems with the site on the Irish server, the site on my server runs fine. We are trying to find out why it runs so bad on the Irish server.

Sadly U.S servers are not created equal. Most are very good but some suck real bad and so does their customer service. I suppose it is the same in Ireland. That is why I have my own server.

We are trying to find out why it runs so bad on the Irish server.
    Why not ask the host?

First things to check is PHP version and apache version. Make sure they hit the minimum requirements - http://wiki.oscdox.com/v2.5/introduction

To check go to Admin -> Tools -> Server Info and check at the top of the page.

Also worth a look is the load average shown as three numbers - the lower the better ... anything over 2 is generally bad (depending on number of cores on your server) Read below for an explanation.

Understanding load average – A Practitioner Guide by Guy Rutenberg

My client has asked the host several times, they insist it is a coding problem, which is obviously wrong since I have the same code on my server running with no problems. I checked the server info because I have suspected that the problem is an overloaded server but under Server Up Time it is blank. The server meets the minimum requirements for OSCMax. I will be asking my client to ask the host for the server up time data.

    Thanks,

    Dan
