affiliate category banner does not get loaded into the URL when trying to create affiliate banners

Here is a screen shot of what my customer will see when trying to attempt copying the affiliate banner link. the <img> tag, has no direct image loaded into it, so it does not show on the customer site when pasted there. But it will show the alt information though.
