file diff software

Can anyone suggest some good free file diff software? I tried "Perforce" and "fCompare", and neither seem to work very well or give accurate "merge" results.

kdiff3 is great but my favorite is beyond compare - not free, but has a 30 day free trial.

I've been using Beyond Compare also. Pretty easy for a hack like me.

A rich site for open source software is SourceForge. I typed in "file compare" and got a list of several packages that I didn't check out any farther.

Also Compare It! or WinDiff from Grig Soft (http://www.grigsoft.com/windiff.htm) I have used before - though a few versions ago.

WinMerge (http://winmerge.org/) is also a great open source one also - thought I have not used it in a long time.

But the king IMHO right now is Beyond Compare.
