I like your site, not unlike my own BestBears.co.uk for Steiff, Merrythought & Rainbow teddy bears, Paddington, Olympic souvenirs, meerkats and animals : (http://www.BestBears.co.uk) which is also based on rc1. Would like to know how you added all the text above and below your products, I haven't figured that out yet but it is something I want to do.

Looking at the site at 12/16/11 it's looking good and filled out.

Having 'Top' in the breadcrumbs I don't understand, unless it's semantics. Having both 'Top' and "Catalog' seem redundant.

I would like to see either a slideshow or a image showing your products on the top of the front page. This will give the viewer an instant sense of knowing what the site is fully about. (IDK if your version of oscmax has the built in slideshow or not)

I like the use of subcategories (w/images) to lead to different product types. (I know that's build it but it is good to see people use it effectively)

I viewed a few products and on the product page the product pictures are horrid looking. Extremely low quality or thumbnails blown up and now are pixelated. I suggest trying to find higher resolution pictures for your products. Or just get a light box and take your own photos. Also consider using SEO friendly image names. I am not quite sure if you generate enough traffic through image searches for these type products to warrant the time needed to change ALL the product pictures in your catalog, but something to add on going forth basis.

Also, consider using SEO friendly URLs. If it's not built into your oscmax release I would consider this feature a good point to upgrade in the near future.

Consider placing your search box higher, as right now it's really low. Most sites have it near the top of the page and me personally I look for the search up top before anywhere else.

Also, if you intend to run promotions you can place them at the very top of the site as right now all that white space is going to waste. (but looks good and clean however)

Owning a CNC machine myself, I am impressed by the wide variety of products. Being also knowledgeable in electronics when I try to get a up close look at the breakout boards it drives me bonkers that I can't see the details of the board and I need to google search for the board to see it... which takes me off your site. =(

Example....

Zapp Automation Ltd - Stepper motors & Stepper Motor Drivers - Servo motors and Servo Motor Drivers - Ballscrews & linear motion products. : CPU5A3 Economy 3 Axis CNC Controller [CPU5A3] - £215.00 (http://www.zappautomation.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=15&products_id=202)

The image for this board is only 240px x 204px but a quick search finds...

http://www.applyca.net/images/cpu5a3.png
640px x 480px... now that I can see the board I get a better understanding on how I am actually going to physically assembled the controller assembly panel.

Definitely move the search up so that it is either above the categories on the left or on the right above or below the shopping cart would not be a bad placement. Top and Catalog both seem to take you back to the same place so only one of those would be needed. Perhaps have a "Top" link at the bottom of each page so that customers can then go back up to the top of the page if need be.

I have built and managed our site on my own for some time now, I am beginning to fall down the pecking order with google so to speak and just wondered if anybody had any idea how i could improve my seo on the site, and any thoughts on the site it self, thanks in advance Iain.
