This is our first time using osCmax and really like it a lot. We have used osCommerce on other stores but this one offers all the major contributions that we usually have to add manually. And to make things even better, it really works!!!!

And the response in the community support forums has proven to be a bonus when we hit something we couldn't figure out (hey, we're flooring guys so we aren't that smart).

We have a lot of "look-and-feel" things we want to add or change. But our ads launch on Google on 8/1 so we are live with what we have.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I see that you've widened the store, to make it a pain for non-widescreen users. :p
Personally, I prefer a smaller header, so as not to detract from the products themselves.
[I had a browse the other day and thought, hey, that real wood looks like it's keenly priced :)]
I found the Spanish alternative interesting - can you help improve any of the translations?
The number of Articles, I always reckon is unnecessary and you might like to look at removing the footer line with date and number of requests - a bit 'old hat' these days.

Consider running a 'dev' subdomain and grab the latest SVN, rather than running with RC1 - quite a few bug fixes. you could run it in parallel, transferring your products with EasyPopulate, along with copying over 'images_big'.

You appear to be using fallback for your template and are making changes there - DON'T - read up on how to do your own template.

More constructive criticism to follow... maybe. ;)

Thanks for the kind words.....with the VAST majority of Internet users using screen resolutions of over 1200 we thought we'd give it a go. I don't know ten words of Spanish. The translations are the out-of-the-box modules on osCmax.....so we can't help there. We plan to include a Google Translate option sometime in the future.

Thanks again for all your help.

My wee Dell laptop (12.1" screen) is fortunately blessed with 1280x800 resolution but consider how many folks are using less well specified netbooks, for example. Just a thought - I tend to stick with around 980px wide but then I'm an auld stingy git and tend to use older (cheaper) technology. :)

Nice looking site, however, you have some pretty serious typo's going on - like the one on your home page top banner: ESITMATES = ESTIMATES
Another in Pro Installation Services - very bottom of your text: calnedatr = calendar...

That's the kind of stuff that might keep folks from doing biz w/ you, I'd fix it asap

Another thing you could do is to run Smu**** (part of firebug for firefox) on your images ... It can save you 98kb out of 427kb on your home page load size.

You might want to enable to GZip function within osCmax as well.

The Contact Us | Account | Cart | Wish List tabs have floated off the baseline line a bit.

I would also change the Admin -> Configuration -> General Settings -> Maximum Values -> Catalog Search Results -> to 18 (or another number divisible by 3)

Regards.
