I've only ever used price based Table Rate shipping for all orders. Today, a customer placed an order and tried paying with Paypal and the order failed. Exactly 67 seconds later he placed the order again, except this time paid with a credit card (different payment module). The order went through, but messed up the shipping charge.

Normally the shipping fee will say, "Table Rate (Best Way)" and this time it said, "2".

What would have caused this? I included a screenshot of the first order attempt that had the correct shipping and grand total of $519.47, and then the second order attempt which somehow deleted the shipping charge and changed it to $2 and thus only charged the customer $496.52.

1st order (fail)
547

2nd order (success)
546

Can you post this in the bugtracker (http://bugtrack.oscmax.com/bug_report_page.php) with the exact modules used, steps to repeat and it will get looked at asap.

Thanks,

This is the paypal error which I pointed you to a long time ago. Fix it according to the bug tracker and this goes away. Paypal mangled the shipping on you.

Yes, paypal mangled the shipping when it failed the first order. So it was already screwed up before the customer tried to use table rate on the second order.

Thanks. I wasn't having mangled shipping costs/back button problems when you posted it, and wasn't aware the fix would eventually be required.

Yes, but i knew you would be needing it. Ignore my advice at your own peril. ;)
