Ran sql through phpmyadmin:
/*!40101 SET SQL_MODE=@OLD_SQL_MODE */;
MySQL said:
#1231 - Variable 'sql_mode' can't be set to the value of 'NULL'
Edit the sql upgrade file /admin/upgrade/2.5.2_to_2.5.3.sql and remove that line at the top:
and the corresponding line at the bottom of the file.Code:/*!40101 SET SQL_MODE=@OLD_SQL_MODE */;
Then re-run the upgrader in the admin panel.
What version of mysql?
MySQL version 5.1.62-cll
Actually when you said to remove the line from the top and the bottom, I had already looked at the file and it was only listed in the bottom of the script. I added it to the top also and it worked!

All About Bikers :
Quick workaround to get your site functional : disable the information box in the admin panel.
Next, it looks like the upgrade sql script wasn't run or failed to execute properly.
What version did you upgrade from? What package did you use? The full download or changes only package.
Did you run the upgrade script from the admin panel? You really need to provide exactly what you did and what the output was from the admin upgrade system if you already ran it.
