Is there a upgrade script from Beta 3 to RC1? =)
Upgrade scripts will be ready for the final 2.5 release. I will be posting the scripts as they become available.
I hope I'm not double posting but I can't see my reply.
Are there any database structure changes between RC1 and Beta 3? I have a programmer working on a shopping cart tie-in and if the database is the same I'll wait for the scripts before I upgrade. Very excited about the new release, it'll be very good for OSCMax!
Yes, there are structure and data changes from Beta 3 to RC 1.
Hi, Congrats on the final release. I have 2.5 Beta 3 up and will look forward to the update script.
What is the route for templates with 2.5. I have some clients who want the templates they see on the net , monster etc., but is there a way to custom the templates they want to 2.5 or, can most oscommerce templates be easily configured for 2.5.
If there were already a selection of 2.5 templates then this q would not be.
Thanks
oz

I think it is important to point out that where no one would say that a person could or should run a store doing sales transaction processing on the Beta release, the release of RC1 means:
1) There are no known major defects in the software
2) There are no known security issues with the software
3) The software is now stable enough to operate a transactional store
What leaving Beta does NOT mean.
1) The release is complete [there will be more changes before final release]
2) There are no minor defects [there are, and we are stamping them out]
3) That every possible combination of every possible option has been tested and is QA as 100% functional [with over 1,000,000 ways to set up an operational osCmax 2.5 store, there is no way to test them all]
4) That everyone will be satisfied that what they wanted got into the product the way that they wanted it [you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time]
So, with all the possible caveats in place, please use it, provide feedback, if you think you have found a defect report it in the bugtracker, and most of all, tell others that it's here, ready for prime time, and it will knock your socks off.
It has been an honor to be a small part of this development team.
any idea when the indv. Shipping will be fixed.
